What’s inside my Spa Comforts product? DreamTime uses only premium-quality, all-natural fillings. Depending on which product you've got, the filling is: Buckwheat hulls – found in our Neck Pillow and Comfort U Pillow. Buckwheat hulls are the small brown triangular husks surrounding buckwheat groats. When milled, the hulls are separated from the groats (the edible portion used in buckwheat pancakes, kasha and soba noodles). Buckwheat pillows provide extraordinary support by shifting and conforming to your anatomy without compressing. The hulls are hypoallergenic and their unique shape allows for ventilation, keeping your Spa Comforts pillow cool in summer and warm in winter. Buckwheat hull pillows have been used for hundreds of years in Asia, most notably in Japan. White rice – After considerable research, Spa Comforts chose white rice to fill our heat-therapy products, including the Herbal Hug, Spa Socks, Sinus Soother, Hot Teddy and Hot Diggity Dog. White rice is a dense, durable, and moldable filling that retains heat or cold for a long period of time, is nearly odor-free and remarkably comfortable. Flax seeds – found in our Eye Pillows. Flax seeds are dense, nearly flat and smooth seeds. This smooth quality makes for the remarkable comfort of our Eye Pillows. Why so many different fillings? Each of the natural fillings we use has a different quality, making each uniquely suited to an intended use. Buckwheat hulls won’t compress and are lightweight, durable, and supportive. They flow easily inside the pillow to fit the contours of your body while providing passive, yet firm support. However, buckwheat hulls don’t have the density to retain heat. Rice and flax seeds, on the other hand, are durable and dense, and when heated, retain their warmth for a long period of time without giving off a noxious odor. White rice flows freely inside your heat therapy product giving you comfortable support just where you need it and maximizing surface contact to better transfer the heat or cold. The durable filling resists breakdown and will provide many years of exquisite comfort. Why does my Spa Comforts pillow smell so good? Aromatherapy herbs – Spa Comforts uses only the finest quality herbs and botanicals. Our exquisite blends are the result of painstaking research and testing to achieve maximum therapeutic benefit. The signature blend used in all of our heat therapy products includes cinnamon chips, whole cloves and eucalyptus leaf. This blend is soothing, penetrating, revitalizing and long lasting. We wanted our heat therapy aroma to be as durable as the product. The Spa Comforts Sinus Soother is a unique blend: containing peppermint, spearmint and eucalyptus leaf for their superior decongesting properties. The Spa Comforts Neck Pillow and Eye Pillow both include soothing lavender flowers to help you relax and dream (sweet dreams!). I love the smell of lavender. Why don’t you use it in your heat therapy products? We love the smell of lavender too, and have used it wherever appropriate. However, when we were formulating our blend for the heat therapy (microwavable) products, we discovered that lavender didn’t have the staying power to endure repeated heating in the microwave. The aromatic oils in lavender flowers are “volatile”, meaning they burn off easily and the smell is soon gone. The aromatic oils in the heat therapy blend: cinnamon, clove and eucalyptus, on the other hand, are among the least volatile and longest lasting, not to mention more therapeutic. I love the scent of my Spa Comforts Eye Pillow and Herbal Hug. How long will it last? A very long time. At Spa Comforts, it’s not enough to just make our products look beautiful and smell great on the shelf. We’ve designed our products to last as long as possible and to be therapeutic. Do any of your products come with no scent? I’m allergic. Yes. The Comfort U Pillow and the Midnight Mask are both unscented. Why are Spa Comforts pillows so comfortable? The natural fillings move inside the pillow for a perfect fit around the contours of your body. As you nestle in, the hulls gently move together to cradle your head and neck, giving you firm, customized support. Is my Spa Comforts pillow adjustable? Yes! All of Spa Comforts buckwheat pillows are sold with the maximum fill, but they are adjustable. Just open the zipper to adjust the amount of fill to suit your personal comfort level. Save any extra filling for future adjustments. What is my Spa Comforts pillow cover made of? Spa Comforts uses premium fabrics designed to look beautiful, feel good against the skin and yet are durable enough to stand the rigors of professional spa use or everyday use at home, the office or on the road. Our easy-care fabrics currently include 100% cotton, anti-pill fleece (100% polyester), 100% poly charmeuse, and 100% polyester velvet. How do I clean my Spa Comforts pillow? With the exception of the Midnight Mask, all Spa Comforts products feature removable and machine-washable covers and fabrics. Follow the easy-care instructions that are sewn in every pillow cover. Just unzip or open the cover and remove for washing. Don't wash the grain-filled liner! We recommend washing on gentle cycle and line drying or machine dry low heat, and remove promptly. The Midnight Mask may be spot-washed as needed. How long should I heat my Spa Comforts product? All microwaves are different. Newer models are more efficient than older ones. Some models are more powerful (higher wattage) than others. We recommend testing your new Herbal Hug or other heat therapy product for short intervals (30 seconds or less) until you reach the desired warmth. Remember: it should FEEL WARM, NOT HOT to touch. After a few uses, you will get to know how long it takes your particular microwave to warm your product. How long will my Herbal Hug stay warm? Like all other Spa Comforts heat therapy products, your Herbal Hug will stay warm for up to 40 minutes. This time may vary depending on how warm it is to begin with. Spa Comforts Spa Socks are only available in one size. They will fit Women sizes 5-9 and Men sizes 5-8.5. You walk (and sometimes run!) all day. Now it’s time to stop and take a load off. That’s what these socks were made for: resting and relaxing. Permission granted. What are those “flaps” on my Spa Comforts Midnight Mask? If we didn’t have noses, we wouldn’t need the flaps, and we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the lulling aroma of the lavender flowers in the Midnight Mask. Fortunately, we do have noses, and those “flaps” effectively prevent light from penetrating where the bridge of the nose lifts the mask off the cheeks. Are your Spa Comforts body care products tested on animals? No! And they never will be. Spa Comforts body care contains neither animal products nor any derivatives of animal products.
